Intro
The Dynamic Enterprise Integration Platform (DEIP) and Track Assessment and Anomaly Detection – Maritime (TAANDEM) provide Maritime Domain Awareness capabilities for monitoring commercial and non-military shipping. Fielded at nine sites globally, the systems are used operationally by the U.S. Navy and Coast Guard. NAVWAR required ongoing software engineering support to sustain the deployed systems, implement incremental improvements, and experiment with Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) integration for broader C2 system interoperability.
Challenge
NAVWAR needed a contractor capable of sustaining DEIP and TAANDEM across geographically distributed operational sites while advancing the platform's technical architecture. The effort required maintaining operational readiness at all nine sites, implementing incremental improvements and defect corrections, and experimenting with SOA to expose DEIP data as web services for integration with Global Command and Control System (GCCS) and other C2 systems.
Accelint provided software engineering support for the DEIP/TAANDEM sustained prototype as a subcontractor to SAIC, delivering:
- System documentation for the NRL DEIP and TAANDEM systems
- Code compliance evaluation against NESI best practices
- Operational maintenance and support for deployed DEIP/TAANDEM systems across all nine sites
- SOA experimentation with DEIP/TAANDEM data for GCCS and C2 system integration, conducted in collaboration with AFRL, FGM, and partner organizations
- Testing, evaluation, and delivery of incremental improvements, defect corrections, and information assurance updates to operational centers
Accelint's software engineering support enabled SSC PAC to sustain operational Maritime Domain Awareness capabilities while advancing the technical foundation for broader C4I integration.
