Intro
Accelint was awarded a $1.1M task order from NIWC Pacific to deliver Maritime Domain Awareness (MDA) system installations, upgrades, and operator training across seven African nations. The effort supports PEO C4I's PMW 740 International Integration Program Office, which manages security cooperation programs and foreign military sales for Navy C4I systems, advancing coastal surveillance capability for partner nations in West, East, and Central Africa.
Challenge
PMW 740 required a contractor capable of integrating and sustaining MDA equipment across diverse operating environments and technical baselines in partner nations. The work required system installations, upgrades to existing coastal surveillance infrastructure, operator training, and sustainment support to ensure reliable maritime awareness and vessel tracking across multiple countries.
Solution
Accelint provided field engineering, system integration, and on-site training across Cabo Verde, Senegal, Togo, Ghana, Tanzania, Kenya, and Cameroon. The team supported:
- Installation and upgrade of MDA systems to improve coastal sensor coverage and operational reliability.
- Configuration and validation of hardware and software packages tailored to each nation’s maritime operations center.
- Technical training for Cameroonian operators, focused on radar operation, maintenance, and practical troubleshooting.
- Sustainment support to ensure continuity of operations after deployment.
Program Impact
The Africa MDA effort supports partner-nation maritime surveillance and response capabilities, strengthening regional maritime security and advancing U.S. Navy objectives for international interoperability and security cooperation across African coastal nations.
