Intro
The U.S. Navy's Model Based Product Support (MBPS) system provides lifecycle management and logistics data access across NAVSEA directorates, PEOs, and Naval Shipyards. Originally deployed in a commercial SaaS environment, the Navy required migration to a Navy-owned cloud infrastructure to achieve ATO compliance and operational control without disrupting fleet logistics workflows.
Challenge
The Navy needed to migrate MBPS from a SaaS deployment to the Maritime Cloud Hosted Environment (Maritime-CHE) within AWS GovCloud while maintaining ATO compliance, preserving operational capability, and avoiding disruption to ongoing fleet logistics workflows. The effort also required integration with Maritime-CHE’s secure, Navy-managed cloud environment that supports enterprise migrations and maritime maintenance operations across NAVSEA directorates, PEOs, and Naval Shipyards.
The migration demanded coordinated solution design, implementation planning, data transfer, and production cutover within a secure, Navy-owned enclave.
Solution
Accelint executed the MBPS migration into Maritime-CHE using a phased approach that delivered:
- Architecture and solution design aligned with Navy security and operational requirements
- Implementation and migration of the Windchill PLM system and associated data into the Navy-owned cloud enclave
- A production go-live with full ATO compliance, enabling uninterrupted lifecycle product management and logistics data access across the fleet
MBPS now operates within Maritime-CHE, providing NAVSEA directorates, PEOs, and Naval Shipyards with secure, Navy-controlled access to lifecycle management capabilities. The migration supports the Navy's logistics digital transformation efforts and strengthens data integration capabilities that improve fleet readiness.
