Intro
The Department of Defense required enhanced enterprise-level visibility and management capability for microelectronics parts used across weapon systems throughout the acquisition and sustainment lifecycle. DoD needed a cloud-based platform to aggregate parts information and enable lifecycle management at both program office and enterprise levels.
Challenge
DoD required a cloud-based, enterprise-wide microelectronics parts management tool capable of aggregating information on parts used across weapon systems and enabling lifecycle management at both program office and enterprise levels. The solution needed to provide Military Service and defense agency weapon system program offices—as well as prime system developers, maintainers, and acquisition, sustainment, and R&D offices—with enhanced insight into critical supply chain risks and rapid access to remediation measures vital to ensuring warfighter safety and mission success.
Solution
Accelint is leading the development of the Enterprise Parts Management System (EPMS) under a $6 million contract awarded by DoD's MCEIP office. EPMS is a cloud-based platform designed to enable parts management across DoD throughout the entire parts lifecycle. Key capabilities include:
- Enterprise-level aggregation of microelectronics parts data across DoD weapon systems
- Lifecycle management tools for program offices to track parts from acquisition through sustainment
- Enhanced insight into critical supply chain risks with rapid access to remediation measures
- Support for Military Services, defense agencies, prime contractors, and acquisition/sustainment offices across the Department
Accelint is executing the iterative design and development of the platform in partnership with JRC Integrated Systems, assessing DoD, Military Service, defense agency, and commercial capabilities to identify the optimal solution architecture.
Program Impact
EPMS will provide DoD with an enterprise-wide view of the microelectronics parts supply chain, enabling better lifecycle management of critical technologies across weapon systems. The platform strengthens the resilience of the defense microelectronics industrial base and supports warfighter safety and mission success across the defense enterprise.
